Narrative-based Medicine “Maternal Near Miss” Project

The goal of this project is to learn from Black and other women of color’s lived experiences regarding their maternal near-death experience during pregnancy and childbirth. This is done through storytelling, which offers women a space to reflect upon and move through their traumas, these stories and data will influence maternal health policy, clinical practice, and health care strategies.
